Wine Gift Baskets: a Great Gift to Light Up Anyone’s Face

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008
John Thompson asked:

Hanging wine racks are specially developed racks that can be suspended from the ceiling, under cabinets, on walls (although there are special wall wine racks that are constructed differently), or on another piece of high-situated furniture. Aside from the intended purpose, these hanging wine racks have multiple functions; they provide revolving dcor, space facilitation, and stylish design.

A hanging six-bottle wine rack spirals as an eye diversion, jolting the visuals of any surroundings in a flare of fashion. This kind of hanging wine rack has an optional stem to allow the likelihood of appending an extra two bottles. The Six- and Eight-Bottle can be placed anywhere around the house-countertops, bars, tables, in the corner, against the wall, in the walk-in closet, or wherever, and can be installed oh-so easily.

And a hanging eclectic eight-bottle wine rack is different. This hanging wine rack is designed in an erratic fashion, almost unintended or previously determined. This style creates a flash that sets any scene on fire. An eighteen-inch black chain accentuates the visual appeal of this hanging wine rack. Since no two of this kind of hanging wine rack is made the same, each owner possesses an one-of-a-kind creation!

The one disadvantage, or risk, of the hanging wine rack is the consideration that it might fall and cause bottles to shatter. This poses a mess and even a potential problem to the health of anyone possibly standing nearby, especially if someone bumps into it a bit too aggressively.

This can even risk hitting someone else in the head or face. For these reasons, the hanging wine rack, although a nifty option in any home, should be suspended wisely and in a safe location where any chance of its falling is minimized or eliminate altogether. This is the real difficulty to installing the hanging wine rack!

A hanging wine rack holds the equivalent attraction of a Christmas tree, and would appeal to both wine lovers and interior designers. In the end, this hanging wine rack-a great piece of fashionable furniture–is not only functional, it is absolutely fun!

Hanging wine racks adds a higher lever (excuse the pun) of sensibilities to your wine storage.

I saw a picture sometime back where a large wooden wine rack was used for storage of shoes. I need advice

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008
Gal asked:

Okay I saw this picture and the idea was wonderful. It was a large antique style wine rack with built in boxes for the wine bottles- open ones and about 40-45 boxes. It looked so unnique. I am thinking of using the same idea as I have a long narrow passage in my new apartment that could go waste if we didnt use it as a shoe rack. I also want to put a bench there to sit down and remove your shoes.
I saw some contemporary ones at target and walmart, but they dont have that feel What I do like about this one is that it has a drawer on top for socks etc
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=6562422
Let me know what you think about this whole idea.
Our apartment is one 1 BR and about 700 sq feet only and we have about 30-40 pairs of shoes ( I know-vain couple!:-)))

I always thought wine got better with age, but I have been told recently that the reds do go bad after awhile.

Hanging Wine Racks — Ah! the Possibilities!

Just A Wine Cabinet Or A Spectacular Piece Of Furniture

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008
Christopher Jay asked:

Just a Wine Cabinet or a Spectacular Piece of Furniture

Wine Cabinets and Storing Your Wine

Storing your wine in a convenient, easy to access way is important for keeping your wine in good condition. It prevents sedimentation issues, keeps the wine out of bright lights that can cause the flavor to soften, and keeps the bottles from rolling around underfoot. A good tool for this is a wine cabinet, which provides a nice, sheltered, enclosed space for your wine bottles. Good wine cabinets may or may not have some refrigeration capabilities to them.

Custom Wine Cabinets Are Affordable

A custom wine cabinet is a reasonably priced addition to your kitchen. They can be custom fitted to any kitchen décor, and can make use of the odd nooks and crannies of any kitchen. They need not be terribly large - make sure that you buy or build a wine cabinet that covers the wines stock you’ll have in place. When looking into getting one, the carpenter’s mantra of “measure twice and cut once” applies.

Oak Wine Cabinets Are A Winner

One of the most superlatively elegant ways to store your wine is in an oak wine cabinet. Oak is a lovely wood for using in making wine cabinets, because of its ready availability, ease of work, and availability in light hues. If you’re looking for something that will add to a kitchen décor with light colors, look no further than oak.

Wood Cabinets Add Grace And Class To Your Home

While it’s possible to store wine in your refrigerator, having a good wine cabinet, where the bottles can be stabilized while they lay on their sides is the optimum solution. While it’s possible to get good wine racks made for a modern, industrial kitchen, the traditional solution is wood. Make sure, when looking for wood wine cabinets, that you get ones that are well made, by a respected cabinetmaker.

Cherry Wine Cabinets Lend A Definite Appeal

For homes with a dark, robust interior layout, a light colored wood wine rack sticks out like a sore thumb - nothing is quite so jarring as seeing a well appointed room in teak and mahogany with a blonde oak end table clashing with the dark ambiance. The same applies to your kitchen, particularly if you entertain with wine. A cherry wine cabinet is one of the better choices - cherry wood has a deep rich luster and a fine grain that go with most dark to neutral kitchen décor, and accentuate the richness of a marble or granite countertop. Don’t forget the importance of your wine cabinet when making your interior decorating choices.

A Wrought Iron Wine Cabinet?

If you like an old fashioned look, consider a wrought iron wine cabinet. Visitors to your home will be impressed by the beauty and functionality of your wine cabinet. Nothing stands for strength more than iron and the availability of designs are endless. This is one of many venues well worth looking into. Wrought iron is also great if you are looking for that Spanish effect or a rustic look.

Wine Decor for the Look of a French Cafe

Thursday, October 16th, 2008
Tess Tackett asked:

Like the warm, rich look and atmosphere of a french cafe? Wine decor is the answer! Find out how transform your kitchen and dining area into the most relaxing and cozy room in the house.

Some people prefer the bright, cheery look of spring and summer for the kitchen. Others like deep, rich hues and elegant accents that remind them of a relaxing outdoor French cafe. If you prefer the latter, wine decor is definitely the choice for you.

It’s fairly obvious by the name that wine decor consists largely of accents containing richly colored grapes and vines, wine racks and anything wrought iron. With so many gorgeous accents awaiting, it’s a hard decision to choose just the right ones.

Let’s start with the dining room walls. To create the deep, rich, sensuous feeling in this room, a burgundy-grape colored wall paper border is perfect. Embellished with gorgeous red and purple grapes and luscious green vines, you have already added a very distinguished touch! Wine decor creates such an elegant atmosphere, you can almost feel it.

A few other accents you will want to be sure to use are wrought iron candleholders and an intricate wine rack. You can find these in many sizes, from a countertop wine rack, to a an extravagant size that will hold dozens of wine bottles! The larger will be a piece of furniture on its own, similar to the size of a china cabinet.

Add interest to your walls with deeply-hued grapevine pictures, surrounded by intricately carved frames. A french-cafe type clock is also a gorgeous touch. To complete the picture grouping, add wrought iron wall sconces complete with richly colored burgundy candles.

Your dining room table can be the focal point of the room! Use a richly textured material in deep hues with a lace border. A solid color works very well, and with the addition of a beautifully colored centerpiece, your look is complete. The centerpiece could contain a floral arrangement surrounded by more deeply colored fruits and greenery.

There are many ways to add elegance and charm to your kitchen and dining room. Use some of your own ideas, and create the kitchen and dining room of your dreams with wine decor!

Thursday, October 16th, 2008
lala asked:

I am a cabinetry ditricutor and have been looking for sometime a source that would have a storage unti for wine that could be used in a base cabinet ….must be a pullout system…wire would be nice. The bottles should sit at an angle to prevent them sliding out. Anything would be nice really.
I have already tried Rev a shelf, the home centers, and most anywhere you’d think to find it. This is a very hard to find item..if you find it please send me the link.
